An enthusiast of Argentine tango, Evan has studied tango music and the bandoneon, an instrument that is a member of the concertina family, in Buenos Aires through a grant from Tango Colorado, and plays in his Denver-based group, Extasis. Among other appearances, he has performed as bandoneon soloist with the University of Colorado symphony orchestra and with Camerata Chicago. He performs on a bandoneon by Alfred Arnold, ca. 1939.
